Yoga With Adriene – an amazing example of an empathic Yoga Teacher

Yoga with Adriene (YWA) is absolutely fantastic. I love her and her lovely dog Benji, of course! I guess I have been following YWA for many years now.

When I first started doing YWA, I was extremely stiff and found many of the postures very difficult to do. I used to leave some of them out because there was no way I could do them! However, through continual practice, over the years, I have witnessed my body become more flexible, I have lost weight, I am much stronger and it makes me feel great mentally. I have personally gained so much from her so I had to write this post to pay homage to a woman who had a massive influence on my life personally.

For me personally, I prefer to do yoga in the comfort of my home.

3) If there is a particularly challenging posture, I can pause the video and try to master it.

What I especially love is that she has videos for certain emotions, situations or ways that you are feeling. This helps as we usually go through an array of emotions and have things to deal with. Yoga is a wonderful way to access the Infinite Intelligence inside of you and help you heal. Some examples are:

She also has many 30 day courses, many of which I have completed and loved. I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I have done one of her courses. I may not always complete them in 30 days but that’s ok too. I am always doing my best!

Specific body part yoga to help you heal

 

Also, she has yoga sessions for certain parts of the body. So earlier this year, I had many problems with my pelvic region so I did this video for about a month continually. Through this journey, I realised that I had a lot of childhood anger and negative emotions stored in my hips. This had to all be released and YWA was the perfect solution for me. I no longer have any paid or problems in my hips or pelvis. This was amazing. Some examples are:

Yoga is over 2000 years old. It is a way of life, a philosophy. I love the way Adriene respects that and delivers it in an authentic way.

I also love her delivery. She has a warm and loving personality that is always received well. And she will recommend easier or more difficult postures dependent on your level.

Don’t have time, well she thought of that too!

 

There are shorter videos like 15 minutes or so and then longer ones around 50 minutes. This helps me a lot because I can stay committed to my practice. When I have time, I can do the longer ones. When I am in a rush, I can do the shorter ones.

Personally I found that I need to do this first thing in the morning. Mainly because I have an empty stomach but also so that I start my day right. I literally get on the mat straight out of bed. Once I have finished, I usually complete my practice with a 15-30 minute meditation. This helps be absorb the benefits of my practice and also sets me up for my day.

I have recommended YWA to many friend and clients over the years and I am always amazed at how many people already know if her – like all over the world!
